Late news from 2nd.

      CA recorded the Black Brant, a Merlin, 2 Peregrines and a Kingfisher between Stonebridge and Pye's Hall.   2 Stonechats at the south end.


      On the fields at the south end this morning (4th), there were 40 Whooper Swans, 14 Mute Swans, 37 Curlews, 450 Golden Plovers, 107 Lapwings, 95 Brent Geese and 25 Meadow Pipits.   On the dunes and flashes were 46 Teal, 8 Little Grebes, 3 Common Snipe, Merlin, Common Buzzard, Little Egret, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 7 Fieldfares, 2 Song Thrushes, 20 Linnets and a Pied Wagtail.
      60 Snow Buntings on the salicornia beds and 6 Rock Pipits on the outmarsh.   On the shore were 70 Sanderlings, 12 Bar-tailed Godwits and 8 Cormorants.   5 grey geese south over the sea.
