Wednesday, 14 October 2015
The blustery conditions and occasional showers persisted so observations were hampered. The main migrants on the dunes at the south end were 15 Robins, 5 Redwings, 4 Ring Ouzels, 4,000 Starlings, 20 Goldcrests, 2 Chiffchaffs, one Lesser Whitethroat and one Lapland Bunting. On the fields were 500 Golden Plovers, 50 Lapwings, 82 Curlews and 2 Common Buzzards, while birds on the flashes included 3 Little Egrets, 7 Teal and a Pintail. Eight Common Scoters flew north at sea and 36 Sanderlings, 2 Cormorants and a Rock Pipit were onshore.
