Lesser Redpoll


         The clearer weather resulted in a reduction in migrant numbers.   Thrushes were down to 3 Ring Ouzels, 10 Blackbirds, 15 Song Thrushes, 3 Redwings and 12 Robins, while other migrants were 10 Goldcrests, 3 Chiffchaffs and one Yellow-browed Warbler.   Also of note were 85 Lapwings, 83 Curlews, one Ruff, one Green Sandpiper, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Pintail, 3 Sparrowhawks, one Marsh Harrier, 3 Common Buzzards, 5 Tree Sparrows and 10 Lesser Redpolls.   60 Pink-footed Geese flew south over the fields and 2 Gannets passed south at sea.
