It was quite misty and a good deal colder today. Birds on the fields included 46 Pink-footed Geese, 101 Lapwings, 40 Golden Plovers and 5 Pied Wagtails. On the flashes were 3 Common Snipe, 3 Redshanks, 2 Geenshanks, one Little Egret, 3 Little Grebes and a Rock Pipit. The southern dunes produced 3 Yellow-browed Warblers, 2 Chiffchaffs, 4 Goldcrests, one Firecrest, 12 Robins, 35 Greenfinches, 150 Linnets, 120 Goldfinches, 35 Chaffinches, 11 Siskins, 5 Tree Sparrows and 50 Reed Buntings. 450 Oystercatchers, 52 Curlews and 5 Cormorants were on the shore at high tide and a Sparrowhawk and the first Lapland Bunting were on the outmarsh.
