My first Swallow flew north along the flashes at the south end.   Four thermalling Sparrowhawks eventually drifted away also to the north.   A Common Buzzard and 3 Kestrels were also noted.   On the flashes were 13 Mute Swans, 12 Mallard, 50 Teal, 20 Tufted Ducks, 12 Coots, 6 Little Egrets and 40 Redshanks.   A House Sparrow was the first since last September and a Tree Sparrow was also seen.   Other birds of note were 5 Chiffchaffs, 4 Redwings, 10 Blackbirds, 110 Linnets, 5 Shelducks and 2 Grey Herons.
