Swallows


      On or over the fields were 83 Lapwings, 13 Curlews, 1,800 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Common Buzzards, 2 Sparrowhawks, 2 Kestrels, 220 Linnets and 5 Grey Partridges.   Most of the thrushes had moved on, but 5 Redwings remained on the dunes along with 12 Robins, 30 Goldcrests, one Yellow-browed Warbler, 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps, 5 Swallows, 2 Grey Wagtails, 8 Lesser Redpolls and 9 Siskins.    Also of note were 95 Pink-footed Geese, one Brent Goose, 7 Tree Sparrows, 80 Reed Buntings, 20 Yellowhammers, 70 Goldfinches, 35 Chaffinches and 25 Greenfinches.
