         The WeBS count for the realignment area was rather disappointing.   Waders were 50 Redshanks, 500 Golden Plovers, 37 Lapwings, 12 Dunlin, 4 Curlews and a Jack Snipe, while wildfowl were 2 Mute Swans, 75 Brent Geese, 100 Pinkfeet which flew south, 69 Shelducks, the Ruddy Shelduck hybrid, 17 Mallard and 143 Teal.   Other waterbirds included 5 Cormorants, 7 Little Egrets and 10 Little Grebes.  

         Also of note were 50 Meadow Pipits, one Rock Pipit, one Lapland Bunting, 7 Fieldfares, 20 Redwings, 6 Mistle Thrushes, one Ring Ouzel, 15 Robins, 3 Stonechats, 2 Bramblings, 2 Chiffchaffs, one Yellow-browed Warbler, 60 Goldcrests, one Swallow and one Marsh Harrier.
