On the flashes and marshes at the south end this morning were 70 Teal, 12 Mallard, 21 Tufted Ducks, 4 Shelducks, 9 Mute Swans, 14 Coots, 2 Little Grebes, 5 Little Egrets, Grey Heron, 15 Curlews, 40 Redshanks and a Common Snipe.    Migrants were 8 Blackbirds, a Redwing, 5 Robins, a Wheatear and 3 Chiffchaffs.   Also of note were 2 Common Buzzards, a Peregrine, 2 Grey Partridges, Mistle Thrush, 3 Pied Wagtails and 60 Linnets.
         In the evening, Colin Smale at Pye's Hall added a Hen Harrier, Short-eared Owl, Barn Owl and a herd of 70 Whooper Swans flying north.
