1st August

Tried an evening visit for terns, but only managed to get wet and badly bitten.   Light and visibility deteriorated rapidly after 2045, so if there were any later roosting flights I was not able to see them.    Only birds of note were 2 Sandwich Terns, 3 Cormorants, 39 Mallard, 5 Teal, 9 Curlews, 4 Golden Plovers, 3 Common Snipe, 3 Green Sandpipers and a Great Spotted Woodpecker.
